Boilerplate
One line. picconv.com is a free collection of file conversion tools that run entirely inside the browser - files are never uploaded to a server.
Short paragraph. picconv.com offers 86 image, PDF, developer and document tools that work without uploading anything: the conversion happens in the visitor's own browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. There is no signup, no watermark and no server-side file storage, and the site is available in 14 languages.
Longer paragraph. Most online conversion tools send the file to a server and return the result. picconv.com takes a different approach: every tool runs locally in the browser, so the file never leaves the visitor's device. That removes the upload step - and with it the size limits, the queue and the question of what happens to the file afterwards. The trade-off is deliberate and documented: a browser cannot replicate every server-side optimisation, so the site publishes what each tool can and cannot do. Features include image compression to a target file size, HEIC and format conversion, PDF merging and splitting, PDF compression, background removal, and a set of developer utilities such as JSON formatting, hashing and encoding.

What is genuinely different
- No upload, verifiable. The claim can be checked in the browser's Network panel, and this site publishes the instructions for doing so.
- Published limits. Each tool states what it cannot do rather than implying universal capability.
- Target-size compression. Several tools compress an image to an exact file size limit, which is what most upload forms actually ask for.
- Reference data. A DPI and print-size table and a nine-format comparison table are published as standalone, citable pages.
