Add a text watermark to one or many photos to mark them as yours before publishing or sending them out. Choose the position (corners, centre, diagonal or tiled across the whole image), the font size, colour and opacity, then process a whole batch at once and download the results individually or as a ZIP.

A watermark does not stop someone determined from reusing a picture, but it makes casual copying obvious and keeps your brand visible when images are shared on marketplaces, social media or in presentations. Text works for names, domains and copyright notices; for a logo, prepare a transparent PNG with the border tool or use it as the source image.

FAQ

Can I watermark several photos at once?

Yes. Select a batch, configure the watermark once and every image gets the same treatment; results can be downloaded one by one or as a ZIP archive.

Can I use a logo instead of text?

This tool places text watermarks. For a logo image, use the image converter to prepare a transparent PNG and then combine it with the picture in an image editor, or use the PDF watermark tool for documents.

Which positions are available?

Bottom right, bottom left, top right, top left, centre, diagonal and a tiled pattern that repeats across the whole image - the tiled mode is the hardest to crop out.

Does the watermark reduce quality?

The image is re-encoded once as PNG, which is lossless, so the visible picture is unchanged apart from the watermark itself.

Can I make the watermark subtle?

Yes. Lower the opacity to around 30-45% and the watermark stays readable without ruining the photo. For preview copies, a centred watermark is usually the safest choice.

Are my images uploaded?

No, watermarking happens entirely in your browser.

Choosing between JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF

These formats solve different problems, and picking the wrong one costs you either quality or file size. JPG is the safest choice for photographs and for anything you need to send to someone else, because every device and program opens it - but it is lossy and has no transparency. PNG is lossless and supports transparency, which makes it right for logos, screenshots, diagrams and anything with sharp edges or text, at the cost of a much larger file. WebP typically beats JPG by 25-35% at the same visible quality and supports transparency, but a few older programs still cannot open it. AVIF compresses even further, especially at low quality settings, but encoding is slower and support is the newest of the four. A practical rule: JPG to send, PNG to edit, WebP for your own website, AVIF when every kilobyte counts and you have checked that your audience can open it.

How much quality you actually lose

Lossy compression throws away detail your eye is least likely to notice - first fine texture, then edges. In practice most photographs look identical to the original down to roughly 75-80% quality, and differences only become obvious around faces, hair, foliage, fabric patterns and text. That is why a portrait and a screenshot need different settings: a face at 60% shows blotchy skin where a landscape at 60% still looks fine. Resizing matters more than quality for perceived sharpness: halving the pixel dimensions usually saves far more than dropping quality from 90 to 60, and the result looks better. If you need a specific file size, reduce dimensions first, then quality, and stop as soon as you hit the target rather than going lower than necessary.
